He and Mary had six children. 

The first child was a daughter, Clara Frances McDougald. She was born 25 Sep 1918, in Waxahachie, Ellis, Texas, USA.

The second was a son, David Cullen McDougald, Jr.  He was born was 25 Feb 1932, in Comanche, Stephens, Oklahoma, USA.  He died 12 Feb 1993, in Grand Junction, Mesa, Colorado, USA.

The third was a daughter, Mary Emmett McDougald.  She was born 7 March 1924, in Comanche, Stephens, Oklahoma, USA.

The fourth child was Kenneth Eugene McDougald. He was born 18 Apr 1925, in Comanche, Stephens, Oklahoma, USA.

The fifth child was William Dean McDougald.

William Dean McDougald was born 12 Mar 1927, in Holliday, Archer, Texas, USA. William died on 19 Dec 2006, in Price, Carbon, Utah.

OBITUARY OF William Dean McDougald


MOAB-Our loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, William D. McDougald, age 79, passed away peacefully Dec. 19, 2006 in Price.

He was born March 12, 1927 in Holiday, Texas to David Cullen and Mary E. Daum McDougald.

He married Mildred E. Bowen May 29, 1948 in Queens, N.Y., they later divorced. He married Doris Ann Wilson Jan. 14, 1984 in Moab, Utah.

William honorably served in the US Air Force during the end stages of WW II.

William graduated from Grand County High School. He then attended the University of Utah achieving a masters degree in geology. During his college years, he joined the ROTC as a second lieutenant. Over the years, he owned and operated Geological Services and was a recognized authority on uranium and vanadium in the Western United States.

He was a member of the Moab Elks Lodge #2021 and the Lions Club. He served 32 years on the Moab City Council, four years on the planning commission, and four years as mayor. He received the first and only College of Eastern Utah honorary doctorate degree.

William enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and especially golf.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the loving staff at Heirloom Inn; Dr. Daniel Monahan; Dr. Glenn Etzel; and Dr. David Nichols, for their love and care of William over the past year.

He is survived by his wife, Doris and her family; son, Michael (Charlene) McDougald; daughter, Janel (Jon) Anast; stepsons, Kent and Scott Ross; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Frances (Harold) Foy, Moab; Mary (Reid) Davis, Farmington, Utah; Dorthy (Fred) Markle, Moab; and a community of friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, and brothers David C. McDougald Jr. and K.E. McDougald.

Memorial service will be held Thurs. Dec. 28, 2006 at 10 a.m. in the Community Church located at 544 MiVida Drive, Moab. Family will be at the church one hour prior to services. Family suggests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Community Church in Moab, P. O. Box 88, Moab, UT 84532.

The sixth child was Dorothy Louise McDougald. She was born 31 Jan 1931, in Wellington, Collingsworth, Texas, USA.

David Cullen died on 9 Oct 1959, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Mary died on 19 Jan 1983, in Moab, Grand, Utah.

They were both buried in Moab, Grand, Utah.
